Easter Basket Run-2018
On behalf of Freebird Motorcycle Club of Southern Oregon, we would like to thank you for your interest in our Annual Easter Basket Run of 2018.
We would like to take a moment to share why we founded this event and why it became so special to us. We are a group of blue-collar and white-collar motorcycle enthusiasts from various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds who enjoy the bonds of brotherhood. We all hold family as top priority and wanted to do something in our community to support underprivileged children. Although there are numerous events around the Rogue Valley that serve underprivileged children, we noticed that Easter was overlooked. We believe that all children should experience the joy and magic of Easter.
After researching and evaluating the needs in our community, we partnered with various agencies to plan our approach. The agencies agreed with us that the needs for the underprivileged children in our area could be met in a manner that not only promoted a restoration of family values but also provided a childhood memory for many children who have never had the chance to experience a magical moment.
With our mission in the planning stages, our driven group of families initiated the work for our inaugural Easter Basket Run in 2008. Much to our surprise, the community support was overwhelming. Over 150 motorcycles, 350 volunteers, and 50 local businesses, as well as Toys for Tots assisted in our endeavor, making it a massive success. Over 300 Easter baskets were delivered to children by a Harley-riding Easter Bunny. The captivation and joy from our little recipients proved contagious and we realized this run would be a success for many years to come. In the following years, we have given hundreds of children an Easter basket and a wonderful memory.
Although we are very proud of our efforts during the years past, there is still much work to be done. We have taken on new agencies this year and plan to deliver 350 Easter baskets to displaced, disabled, homeless, and abused children. Our goal is that every child, regardless of life’s circumstances, have the opportunity to experience the magic of childhood, and for this we need your support.
The Freebird Motorcycle Club in partnership with Jackson County Foster Parent Association, volunteers, and supportive friends, would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for your involvement, support, and donations to Freebird Motorcycle Club’s tenth Annual Easter Basket Run of 2018.
With Warmest Regards,
